Translation is priced per word. Revision, proofreading and layout work are priced by the hour, because the effort depends on what state the file arrives in.

What moves the number on your quote:

• Language pair. Nordic languages sit at the top of the range. Several Central and Eastern European languages sit below the European average.
• Subject matter. An IFU or a regulatory submission needs a specialist and a documented terminology check. A press release does not.
• Service level. Our default workflow includes revision by a second linguist, as ISO 17100 requires. A monolingual proofread, a quality assessment against MQM, or layout work are priced on top.
• Deadline. Work that has to be split across several translators to hit the date carries a surcharge.
• File format. Clean editable files cost less than scanned PDFs or InDesign packages that have to be rebuilt.
• Volume and repetition. Large files get a volume reduction, and segments that repeat are charged at a lower rate.

We do not publish a rate card, because a rate quoted without seeing the file is a guess. Send us the document and you get a firm price that holds for three months.

A translator covers 2,000 to 2,500 words a day, and the ISO 17100 revision pass adds to that. For most projects it puts delivery at five to seven working days.

Shorter is possible. We either apply a rush surcharge, or split the file across several translators working from a shared glossary with one reviser at the end to keep the voice consistent. Above a certain volume, splitting is the only honest answer, and we will tell you when the date you want is going to cost you quality.

The deadline that counts is the one written on your purchase order. We confirm it before work starts, and if anything threatens it you hear from us the day we know.

You get named linguists and you keep them. ISO 17100 sets the entry bar: a recognized degree in translation, or a degree in another field plus two years of full-time translation experience, or five years of full-time experience. Everyone translates into their native language and works inside a declared specialization.

English and German into French is handled in house. Other combinations go to a panel we have worked with for years, under NDA, with the same qualification file on record for each linguist.

Every translation is then revised by a second linguist who compares it against the source and who meets the same requirements. CVs and qualification records are available on request.

The documents you upload are kept while the quote is live, which is three months, then deleted from our systems and our backups. Your contact details are treated separately and stay on file for three years, so we can pick the conversation back up. Both can be deleted sooner, at any time, and we do not ask why.

Uploads travel over an encrypted connection. Your document is never sent to another client as a sample and never goes into a training set.

We hold certificate FR102114-1, issued by Bureau Veritas Certification, for the cycle running to June 2029.

It covers how we qualify translators and revisers, and how we prove it. It covers the mandatory revision of every translation by a second qualified linguist. Project management and client agreements are in scope too, along with the records that let us trace any delivered file back to the people and the sources behind it.

You do. We create them, maintain them and keep them clean, and you can ask for a copy at any time in standard formats, TMX for the memory and TBX for the terminology, at no charge. That includes the day you decide to work with someone else.

Your memory is used on your projects only and is never merged with another client's. It is the reason your costs come down over time, and it is yours to take with you.

Yes. Send a genuine extract of the work you have coming, around 300 words, in the language pair and the field that matter to you. We run it through the same process as a paid project, revision included, so what you read is what you would receive.

We ask for two things back. Something from your real workload, because a marketing blurb tells you nothing about how we handle the documents you actually need translated. And a named reviewer on your side, ideally someone in your local market, so the feedback comes from the person who will be judging our work later.

Human translation with no machine involvement is available for every language pair we offer, and for some clients it is all we do. We also build AI-assisted workflows for clients who want them, with a specialist in your field reviewing and signing off on every file before it reaches you.

Whichever you choose is recorded on your account and written into the purchase order, so it cannot change without your agreement. When AI is part of the workflow, your content is processed in the EU by default, other regions on request, and nothing you send is used to train a model. Plenty of clients say no for regulatory documents and yes for internal content. That is a normal answer.
